"Just as our thoughts influence our movement patterns, our movement patterns influence our thoughts. As physiotherapists, we often work with this knowledge integrated into our work. Body, posture and movement can provide access to many more experiences than we have words for. Dance, beyond the obvious physical strengthening effects, has the potential to provide a safe forum for testing different movement patterns and expressing different emotional states, which can be helpful not only in strengthening health but also in shaping identity during adolescence."
